On May 6, 1997, Valportas – Portas e Automatismos, S.A. was founded. with a strong technical-commercial structure, and in January 1999 the company’s first production cycle was born, covering approximately 80 m2.
At the turn of the millennium, the first expansion to 600 m2 was developed, giving the company the first profiling line, which allowed 100% in-house manufacturing.
In January 2002, the production process grew again to 3000 m2, and where production began: lizard harrows, rolling harrows, overhead doors and sectional doors. After a year, the lacquering line was born in a new space of 900 m2. And with this one more step, Valportas begins to offer a complete service with a very high manufacturing capacity. At the same time, the company’s internationalization process begins. New manufacturing methodologies are being prepared with the aim of achieving a positive commercial impact on foreign markets.
In 2004, the testing process for European certification begins in partnership with SP TECHNICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF SWEDEN in order to comply with the European Standard in force UN EN 13241-1, to be the first company in the field to obtain this certification. Objective achieved, with approval in 2005. And that same year, another and new certification process begins: NP EN ISO 9001, which certifies good practices in the Organization’s Management System.
With the end of the first quarter of 2012, a new production unit with state-of-the-art equipment arrives. More 6000 m2 to make a total of 11000 m2 and leverage the manufacture of more than 8000 units per year to supply more than 10 countries.
Establishing an image of solidity, trust and sustained growth, in order to respond to the demands of customers and the market… and create rigorous methods of planning, management, efficiency and quality in the final product, Valportas has been certified since 2007, always in compliance with the NP EN ISO 9001:2015. With a good quality policy, we also have an economic/financial perspective of continuous improvement through processes and organizational structure to maintain high levels of satisfaction of its partners and suppliers. Work also recognized and awarded by IAPMEI (Small and Medium Enterprises Support Institute and Innovation through the categories, SME Leader since 2013 and SME Excellence in the years 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
